James Brock

James Brock played for Woolwich Arsenal in their early years as a Football League club.

The outside right had a healthy scoring record for the Club, scoring 23 goals in 63 starts after joining from East Stirlingshire in May 1896.

Brock made his debut against Manchester City in September that year but did not score until his fourth match in a 2-0 win over Loughborough.

He netted another nine times in 25 appearances the following season as Woolwich Arsenal finished third in Division Two.

But despite being a regular for two seasons, Brock was sold to Cowes for £30 in November 1898.
