Gilles Sunu

Gilles Sunu did not quite make the impact he wanted to at Arsenal but showed he had the talent to build a career.

After joining from Châteauroux in 2007, the powerful young striker made his way through the youth ranks at London Colney before forcing his way into the reserves.

Sunu made two first-team appearances under Arsene Wenger, making his full debut in a 2-0 League Cup victory over West Brom in September 2009 before featuring as a substitute in the Champions League at Olympiacos in December that year.

The France youth international enjoyed a brief spell on loan at Derby County in the 2009/10 season and joined Ligue 1 side Lorient on a short-term basis the following campaign.

That deal was made permanent in summer 2011.
