George Payne

George Payne joined Arsenal from Leyton FC in June 1912.

The forward made his debut in a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa in September 1912, the first of three starts for the Club.

Payne spent one season at Arsenal before leaving in 1913. He had predominantly played in the South Eastern League, where he appeared 16 times and scored nine goals.

He was severely wounded on active service during the First World War and was unable to play again.
