Fred Pagnam joined Arsenal from Liverpool in October 1919 after spells with Huddersfield Town, Southport Central and Blackpool.
The centre forward enjoyed a successful career at Highbury, playing 53 times and scoring 27 goals in just under 18 months at the Club.
Pagnam finished as Arsenal's second highest goalscorer in his first season and formed a strong partnership with Harry White up front.
He went one better and topped the scoring charts the following season but was sold to Cardiff City for £3,000 before the season's end with the Club in need of funds.
Pagnam later played for Watford before managing the Hornets upon his retirement. He later enjoyed coaching roles with the Turkish FA and in Holland.
The striker died in March 1962.
