Frank Cownley

Frank Cownley's Arsenal career was hampered by injury.

The full back joined in May 1919 after spells with Newark, Hucknall and Sheppey United before making his senior debut in the United League against Brighton United in October 1898.

Cownley played 15 times in four years at the Club after serving with the Royal Field Artillery in the First World War.

He played 64 Football Combination matches and 19 friendlies before his departure in 1923.
