Dr. Roose

Dr Leigh 'Dick' Roose joined Arsenal from Aston Villa in September 1911.

A doctor in bacteriology by profession, Roose maintained his amateur status throughout his football career.

The goalkeeper played 13 times in his year-long spell at the Club after making his debut against Middlesbrough in December 1911.

Roose was called up for Wales during spells at previous clubs Stoke, Everton and Sunderland.

He left Arsenal in 1912 after making his final appearance against Notts County in April that year.
