Danny O'Shea joined Arsenal as an apprentice in 1978 and signed professional forms two years later.
A versatile player who could operate in defence or midfield, O'Shea made his league debut in a goalless draw against Birmingham in October 1982.
He started six consecutive matches until a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City which proved to be his final league appearance for the Club.
O'Shea, who was captain of Arsenal's youth team, joined Charlton Athletic on loan in the 1983/84 season before moving to Exeter City on a free transfer in summer 1984.
The defender forged a successful career in the Football League and later enjoyed spells with Southend, Cambridge, Northampton, Wimbledon (loan), Rushden & Diamonds, Aylesbury United and Canvey Island.
