Dan Burgess

Dan Burgess spent three seasons at Arsenal but struggled to make an impact in the first team.

The inside forward joined in May 1919 after being injured in France and released from his duties with the Army.

Burgess made his debut the following season in a 3-2 win over Liverpool and enjoyed a brief spell in the first team until October, and a 1-0 defeat to Blackburn.

He did not play for the remainder of the campaign, nor for the first half of the 1920/21 season, but returned in March with four appearances.

Still scarcely used, Burgess played twice at the beginning of the following season but did not feature again before his transfer to West Ham United for £300 in June 1922.

He later played for Aberdare and Queens Park Rangers.
