Centre forward Charlie Walsh sadly could not match his prolific friendly form for Arsenal on the competitive stage.
Walsh's solitary appearance for the Club arrived in the form of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Walsall in January 1933. But that didn’t begin to reflect his threat in non-competitive fixtures.
Walsh scored 18 goals in 32 Football Combination matches, 11 in nine friendlies and a further 11 in just 19 London Midweek League fixtures.
But ultimately the striker's FA Cup cameo was all the first-team action he had to show for a three-year spell with the Club. Walsh later transferred to Brentford in January 1933.
