Bobby Templeton

Bobby Templeton joined Arsenal from Newcastle United for £375 in December 1904.

It took just nine days for his full league debut, a 5-1 win at Notts County, and he was soon involved on a regular basis.

The outside-left eventually made 41 starts during his 18-month spell with the Club, winning one full cap for Scotland in 1905. Templeton's international debut had been scheduled for three years prior but was cut tragically short when 26 spectators died during the first Ibrox disaster.

He eventually transferred to Celtic in May 1906 for £250, winning Scottish League and Cup honours in his sole season in Glasgow.

Templeton retired in 1915 before his premature death four years later at the age of just 39.
