Arthur Elliott

Arthur Elliott had a goals-to-games ratio of better than one in two during his two years at Arsenal.

The inside left joined from Accrington in summer 1892 and proved a prolific force as the Club entered a new era in league football.

Elliott was a first-team regular after making his debut in an FA Cup qualifier against Highland Light Infantry in September 1892.

He played in Arsenal's first league season of 1893/94 after scoring 29 goals in 52 senior games for Royal Arsenal the season before.

One of those games, a 10-1 win over City Ramblers, saw three Arsenal players (including Elliott) score hat-tricks - for the first and only time in the Club's history.

The forward scored 10 times in Arsenal's debut league campaign and added another nine goals in 10 FA Cup appearances.

Elliott was reinstated as an amateur in 1894/95 and went on to play for Tottenham Hotspur.
