Centre-back Allan Young was a junior at Arsenal before signing professional terms in 1959.

He made his debut on Boxing Day the following year and played three more times that winter. But he didn't taste victory in an Arsenal shirt, drawing two and losing two of his four League games for the Gunners.

He was signed by Chelsea in the summer of 1961 for £6,000 and switched to Torquay eight years later.
