Alex McFarlane’s Arsenal career was over in less than a year.
The outside left signed from Airdrieonians in November 1896 and made his debut in a home league game against Grimsby Town.
McFarlane went on to make five league appearances for the Club, before returning to Airdrieonians in the summer of 1897.
He would go on to have spells at Newcastle United, Dundee and Chelsea before managing Dundee, Charlton Athletic and Blackpool upon retiring.
