Scot Alex Main joined the Club at the end of the 19th century as Arsenal were in the process of establishing themselves in Division Two.
The inside forward scored 14 times in 69 appearances for the Gunners during his four-year spell, and he nearly helped the Club to promotion in his final season only for the team to be edged out in third place.
Main moved back to Scotland in 1903 to join Motherwell, and in his absence his former team-mates won promotion to Division One the following season.
