Alan Smith

Alan Smith spent just over six months at Arsenal in 1946.

The Newcastle-born outside left joined as an amateur in May 1946 before signing professional terms at Highbury just one week later.

Smith made his debut - the first of three starts - in a 2-2 draw with Sunderland in September 1946. He eventually moved on in December that year when Brentford acquired his services. He later played for Leyton Orient and Ashford United.

Alan is the oldest living former player of Arsenal.
