Alan Miller

Goalkeeper Alan Miller joined Arsenal as a schoolboy in July 1984 and signed professional terms four years later.

The 6ft 3in stopper made his debut as a substitute away at Leeds United - becoming the first Arsenal goalkeeper to come on as a substitute, and went on to make a further five appearances during his time in north London.

Miller was capped at under-21 level by England and was an unused substitute as Arsenal won the FA and League Cup Double in 1993 and the European Cup Winners' Cup a year later.

He joined Middlesbrough for £325,000 in August 1994 and went on to have spells with a host of clubs including West Bromwich Albion.

Miller ended his career with Blackburn Rovers but had to retire due to a back problem in 2003.
