WHAT HAPPENED

Our seven-game unbeaten run came to an end in the Premier League 2 on Friday night as we were beaten by Manchester United.

Arthur Okonkwo returned in goal and made a number of impressive saves, while Kido Taylor-Hart replaced Reiss Nelson on the left wing.

We made a confident start to the game, but with a searching pass behind our defence, Hannibal Mejberi won a penalty after drawing a foul from Daniel Oyegoke, who was shown a straight red card.

Joe Hugill stepped up to fire United into an early lead, only to see his tame effort saved by Okonkwo.

It didn’t take long for United to make their one-man advantage count, though, as Harvey Neville latched onto a cutback and finished into the bottom corner.

We held on for the remainder of the first half, maintaining our shape at the back, but on the hour mark, Hugill made up for his missed penalty by converting at the near post between Okonkwo’s legs.

Shola Shoretire then went on to make it three in the 89th minute, winning a penalty before converting from the spot.
