Our under-21s fell to a 3-0 defeat away to West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.
Coming off the back of our 4-2 win over Southampton last week, we started brightly and dominated possession well but we failed to muster any clear-cut opportunities.
However, it was the hosts who broke the deadlock just after the half-hour mark, as Reece Hall cut inside from the right-hand side of the box and curled his shot in off the post.
Undeterred by the setback, we rallied and came agonisingly close to levelling the score before halftime, with Ethan Nwaneri finding space but firing his effort just over the bar.
After the break, we intensified our efforts, pressing for an equaliser. Jack Henry-Francis unleashed a powerful shot, only to be denied by Ben Cisse in the Albion net.
We came close again as Nathan Butler-Oyedeji unleashed a fierce right-footed strike, forcing a corner with his effort.
However, Eseosa Sule clinched the three points for the Baggies with two late goals in added time.
The result keeps us in third place in the Premier League with 27 points after 14 games played.
We can bounce back on Friday, March 1 as we face Chelsea away in a fierce London derby.
Kick-off at Kingsmeadow is at 7pm (UK).
