Our under-21s came from 2-1 down to win 4-2 against Southampton in Premier League 2 on Friday night.

After Nathan Butler-Oyedeji gave us the lead inside just two minutes, Saints went ahead with goals from Luke Pearce and Cameron Bragg before half-time.

But Osman Kamara, Ismail Oulad M’Hand and Jimi Gower all got on the scoresheet in the second half to complete an impressive turnaround.

Shortly after kick-off, it was Oulad M’Hand who won the ball in a dangerous area, allowing Butler-Oyedeji to catch Joshua McNamara off of his line and curl the ball into the top corner.

The equalising goal came by way of Pearce in the 25th minute as he dinked the ball over the top of Ovie Ejeheri, who had previously gone down to receive treatment and would go on to be substituted at half-time for Alexei Rojas.

Before half-time though, Ejeheri made a good save to deny a Harrison Miles effort from 20 yards out, but Southampton took the lead from the following corner, floated all the way in by Bragg.

With half an hour remaining, we got back into the game as Kamara, assisted by Gower, cut in from the left wing and bent the ball into the top right corner.

It was 3-2 to the good moments later as Oulad M’Hand profited from a Michal Rosiak corner routine to curl the ball into the bottom corner.

Getting into our groove, Gower made it 4-2 when he caught McNamara off of his line and slotted the ball into the back of the net, after it had been won by Oulad M’Hand.
