WHAT HAPPENED
We made it two wins from two in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night as we secured an impressive 2-1 win over Crawley Town.
Jordan McEneff and Miguel Azeez scored their first goals at under-21 level, while Arthur Okonkwo made his return from injury after a year-long spell on the sidelines.
Lining up in a 4-3-1-2 formation, we took control of the midfield early on and soon found ourselves ahead, with Kido Taylor-Hart rounding the keeper and teeing up McEneff for a simple finish.
But the hosts bounced back and after creating a number of promising chances, debutant Max Watters beat his marker for pace before slotting home inside the area.
That didn’t kill our youngsters’ confidence on the ball, though, and shortly after the restart Azeez grabbed his reward for a man-of-the-performance, firing into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Crawley pushed on in search of a late equaliser with some dangerous deliveries and direct play, but our defence stood strong to secure all three points.
