Our under-18 side kicked off our FA Youth Cup campaign with a comprehensive 6-0 win over Millwall.

What happened

Jack Wilshere’s side started the brighter of the two sides and we almost opened the scoring within the first minute when efforts from Ethan Nwaneri and Omari Benjamin forced Millwall’s keeper into two early saves.

We got our deserved lead shortly after when the ball fell to Jimi Gower on the edge of the box and he curled delightfully effort into the top corner. A couple of minutes later, we almost added to our lead but Bradley Ibrahim’s shot was well-saved by Millwall’s keeper who was kept busy all evening.

It was one-way traffic throughout and we doubled our advantage midway through the first half as Millwall failed to clear their lines and Nwaneri rifled a thunderous shot into the bottom corner.

Three minutes later, it got even better as Michal Rosiak got in on the act by curling a beauty into the top corner, meaning we went into the break three goals up.

We started the second half just as impressively as the first half and scored our fourth through Amario Cozier-Duberry, who poked home after Myles Lewis-Skelly won possession high up the pitch. The winger almost added our fifth when he jinked past two players but he fired his shot in the side-netting.

The fifth came through Omari Benjamin who was a constant menace for the Millwall defence and got his deserved goal when he turned home from close range following a melee in the penalty box. Benjamin would then slot home his second in added time to cap off a fantastic performance, as our side booked their place in the next round.
