WHAT HAPPENED
Our under-18s suffered a frustrating defeat on Saturday as they were beaten 3-1 by Fulham on the road.
We came into this fixture unbeaten in our last four away outings across all competitions, but collapsed late on despite taking the lead on the hour mark.
The first half proved to be a tightly-contested encounter, with chances few and far between. Fulham would go on to create one golden opportunity, though, as Ibane Bowat crashed a powerful header back off the bar from an inswinging delivery.
Following the restart, the hosts continued to dominate play and came close through Michael Olakigbe’s diving header, but with a moment of magic from Omari Hutchinson, delivering an inch-perfect delivery into the penalty, Joel Ideho was on hand to open the scoring.
Our lead would last just five minutes, though, as the referee awarded Fulham a contentious free-kick and Matthew Dibley-Dias duly fired into the bottom corner.
Kieron Bowie then went on give the hosts the lead, firing home from close range at the far post, before Mika Biereth doubled their advantage with a drilled finish into the bottom corner, taking Fulham top of the table on goal difference.
