WHAT HAPPENED
Ben Cottrell scored twice as our under-18s picked up their first league victory of the season on Saturday, defeating Aston Villa 5-1 at Bodymoor Heath Training Ground.
We were narrowly beaten by Chelsea on the opening day - but were quick to bounce back with an emphatic performance on the road.
Cottrell opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a first-time volley inside the area, before doubling our advantage with a delicate finish over the onrushing Akos Onodi.
Our youngsters were in full flow by this stage and shortly afterwards, Miguel Azeez scored the goal of the afternoon, kickstarting a move before dummying over the ball, receiving it once more and firing into the top corner.
Aaron Pressley pulled one back for the hosts after the break, but just 10 minutes later we restored our three-goal advantage, with substitute Alfie Matthews heading home from a free-kick.
Sam Greenwood made it five from the spot to round off a fine performance.
