WHAT HAPPENED

We returned to winning ways in the U-18 Premier League on Saturday with a 6-2 win over Fulham at London Colney.

We ran out 4-0 winners over Fulham in the U-18 Premier League Cup only last month - and we wasted no time in troubling their defence once more.

Cutting in from the right, Ben Cottrell delivered a dangerous ball to the left wing and Yunus Musah was there to fizz a half-volley into the top right corner.

Shortly after the visitors tried to play out from the back in a bid to beat our pressing, but once Folarin Balogun regained possession inside their box, he was brought down, and the referee instantly pointed to the spot.

Balogun made no mistake from 12 yards and less than three minutes later we furthered our advantage through Matt Smith. The 19-year-old receives the ball on the turn from Musah and faked to shoot twice, before firing a low drive into the bottom left corner.

Ken Gillard’s side had delivered a perfect first half performance - and they kicked off the second half in similar fashion.

Less than three minutes after the break, Smith picked out Balogun with a lofted pass over the Fulham defence, and the 17-year-old rounded the keeper before firing into an empty net.

Musah then went on to score his second of the afternoon with a simple finish from close range, before substitute Terry Ablade pulled one back for the visitors from a set-piece routine.

Fulham struck again through Harvey Elliott on a counter-attack, but deep into stoppage timme Zak Swanson restored our four-goal advantage with a wonderful curling finish.
