WHAT HAPPENED

James Olayinka scored the goal of the game and Gabriel Martinelli also shone on his debut as we kicked off our US tour with a comfortable win.

Olayinka, just 18 and making his second appearance for the first team, strode through the midfield to arrow a shot into the top corner for a goal - and a moment - he'll never forget.

That doubled our lead - Bukayo Saka had clipped us ahead after a fine through-ball from Eddie Nketiah - and all but ensured this useful workout would end in victory.

Martinelli made sure with an improvised finish from Dominic Thompson's cross, the ball finding the net via the Brazilian's shoulder. Martinelli deserved his goal - he was probably our standout performer.

Unai Emery started with a young side but, as usual in these games, a raft of substitutions followed in the second half.

That gave a capacity crowd in Denver a chance to see some of our more established stars. Predictably, the loudest cheer was reserved for the late introduction of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil.
