Thank you, Extramarks!

Last month we welcomed over 300 students to Emirates Stadium to play on the pitch, thanks to our Official Learning Partner, Extramarks, who kindly donated pitch time back to the community.

120 Year 3 and Year 4 pupils from 12 of our partner Primary Schools in Islington, Camden and Hackney took part in our Arsenal Primary Stars Football Festival.

Children had the opportunity to play on the pitch, taking part in themed workshops and games around the four programme values - Be Fair, Be Ambitious, Be Connected and Be Inspiring.

Arsenal coaches deliver weekly sessions in these schools supporting teachers to deliver high-quality PE lessons and leading targeted classroom interventions, social action projects and the Arsenal Double Club which supports the physical and mental wellbeing of participants in an after-school environment.

In our second session, we hosted 70 Year 7 and Year 10 students from five partner secondary schools, who were invited to attend the โ€˜play on the pitchโ€™ events at Emirates Stadium.

Led by the Arsenal BTEC students and Coach Development Programme coaches, students took part in football skills activities and mini-matches.

During the 2021/22 season, Arsenal in the Community delivered skills-based workshops to these partner schools as part of the Premier League Inspires Programme.

Through this programme, students have had the opportunity to reflect on and develop key skills, including communication, leadership, and teamwork.

Also part of this session, 120 girls from local secondary schools took part in a tournament on the pitch.

Teams were made up of participants on the Premier League Kicks programme, which is delivered all year round on school sites and engages women and girls in regular football activity, as well as regular opportunities for fixtures and events with other schools and clubs.
