Silky midfielder Kyra was a hot property when we made her our fifth and final signing of the 2023 summer transfer window, and the Australian enjoyed a promising first season in English football, making 23 appearances and impressing with her dynamism, clever running and incisive, accurate passing.
She began her professional career at Melbourne Victory, where she made her competitive debut at the age of just 15, and went on to make 44 appearances across two spells with the club, either side of a season at Western Sydney Wanderers in 2019/20. She also won the Australian W-League title in 2020/21 – scoring direct from a corner in the last minute of extra time in the Grand Final – and 2021/22.
Kyra moved to Europe with Hammarby IF in 2022, making 30 appearances and winning the Swedish Cup. She made her Australia debut against Denmark in June 2021 and by the end of the 2023/24 season was closing in on 50 caps for her country, having started all seven games in Australia’s run to the semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup, having reached the semi-finals in 2020. She also featured at the 2024 Olympics.
