Classy defender Amanda brought experience and great aerial ability to the defence when she joined from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023. A regular until the end of January 2024, she featured 17 times in all competitions and scored three goals, the first of which was an injury-time header to beat Championship side Southampton in the Continental Cup. She also scored in the 4-1 win over Chelsea at Emirates in the WSL before Christmas and against Watford in the FA Cup in January before her season was curtailed for the happiest of reasons: her first pregnancy.
The experienced Swede won four titles in her homeland with FC Rosengard – two of them with Jonas Eidevall as manager – and a Bundesliga with Bayern Munich before lifting the French Cup with Paris Saint-Germain. Amanda has become a key player for her country over more than a decade, having featured at three European championships, three World Cups and the 2020 Olympics, where she won a silver medal.
She was effective at both ends of the pitch as Sweden reached the semi-finals at the 2023 World Cup, with her four goals – three of them headers – placing her joint second in the scoring charts.
