Wolfsburg, Villareal and Lyon all travelled to North London in July 2015 to compete against Arsenal for the eighth Emirates Cup.
The first game of the tournament saw Villarreal beat Wolfsburg 2-1 but it was Arsenal who then dazzled with an attacking performance against Lyon to claim a comfortable 6-0 victory. The Gunners took control just before the half-hour mark during a breathless nine-minute spell in which they scored four times.
The second day saw Villarreal seriously contending for the Emirates Cup with a 2-0 win against Lyon. However, Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat over Wolfsburg meant Arsenal won the trophy for the first time since 2010.
Emirates Stadium also played host to a different cup that weekend, with fans in attendance being given the chance to have their photo taken with the Emirates FA Cup trophy. For those that had their photo taken, Emirates also ran a competition for them to win VIP tickets to an Arsenal match during the season.
