For Dominique Janssen, this summer’s European Championship has added significance.
The 22-year-old is one of four Netherlands internationals in our current squad and this summer’s tournament will be held on home turf for the Dutch quartet.
“I’m very excited, especially that it’s in the Netherlands,” Janssen told Arsenal Player. “I think the crowd is going to be big, so it’s very exciting.
“We just want to do good as a team and especially we want to do good as individuals. I’m working hard right now just to be the best that I can be and to help the team as much as I can. So I think it’s really nice that we can show the Dutch public what we can do, so I’m very excited for that.
“I hear from other people that they are telling us that we are taking steps and I think we are making good steps forward and every camp we make some progress and learn from our mistakes.
“We just want to impress at the Euros and we hope that we can do something great for the crowd as well.
"We have a lot of players that are playing abroad and it’s definitely just making the level higher in the team. We can also help the players in the Dutch league raise the level. I think that everyone is just willing to work hard and improve - mindset is the most important thing."
