Under-8s pre-academy team visit London Colney

This week, we welcomed our U8 Pre-Academy team to our training ground in London Colney. It was a special day which included a training session led by our men’s first team coaches and Hale End graduates Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson.

The day offered a deeper insight into the club and connected our youngest Gunners with our players including those who have made the journey from academy to the men’s first-team, from Hale End to London Colney.

Experiences like these form an important part of our football strategy which brings together all our teams, players, people and expertise. This is a great example of the steps we’re taking to bring opportunity and connection across the club. It was a special day for the boys and their families, but for all of us at Arsenal too.

James Ellis, our Head of Recruitment said: ‘We strive to create a sense of pride and belonging at Arsenal and it’s important to create moments that inspire this feeling. All the pre-academy team are hugely grateful to everyone who helped bring the day to life at a busy time of the season.

“The excitement and gratitude was measured by the boys’ energy when they arrived at London Colney. Their faces and special moments with the players and coaches and the messages of thanks that flooded in after the event were overwhelming.

"It’s clear we spread a lot of joy and happiness and created a sense of belonging to Arsenal. That’s something very special.”
