Loan Watch: Torreira, Nelson, Mavropanos

Lucas Torreira in action for Fiorentina in Serie A

Seven of our players were in action last week for their respective loan clubs.

Read on to find out how they performed:

Lucas Torreira played 90 minutes as Fiorentina beat AC Milan 4-3. Dusan Vlahovic scored a brace, while Riccardo Saponara and Alfred Duncan were also on target for our midfielder’s loan side. The win leaves Fiorentina seventh in Serie A, just four points off a Champions League spot after 13 matches.

Hector Bellerin was sent off after 67 minutes in Real Betis’ 3-0 win over Elche. Our defender was shown a straight red card, the first of his career, after being adjudged to have denied a clear goalscoring opportunity during a coming together with Tete Morente. Goals from Juanmi, Willian Jose and Nabil Fekir were enough for Betis to hold on and move up to fifth in LaLiga.

William Saliba started as Marseille’s Ligue 1 match against Lyon had to be abandoned after five minutes. The referee suspended play following an incident that saw Dimitri Payet struck by a bottle thrown from the stands.

Matteo Guendouzi was also involved in Marseille’s abandoned match.

Daniel Ballard played 90 minutes as Millwall drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough. The draw means Millwall stay ninth in the Championship, just three points off a play-off spot with 18 matches played.

Dinos Mavropanos played the full match on his return from injury as Stuttgart lost 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund. The defeat leaves Stuttgart 16th in the Bundesliga after 12 matches.

Reiss Nelson was a 67th minute substitute as Feyenoord beat PEC Zwolle 4-0. The win extends Feyenoord’s unbeaten run in the Eredivisie to five and leaves them just two points behind first-placed Ajax, with a game in hand.
