Team news: Vieira, Partey and Tomiyasu start

The Arsenal changing room ahead of the game against Bournemouth

Fabio Vieira is handed his first Premier League start since September for today’s game against Bournemouth as one of three changes to Mikel Arteta’s starting XI.

The Portuguese midfielder last started in the win at Brentford but is handed an opportunity to impress this afternoon against the Cherries, as he takes Granit Xhaka’s place in the side.

That is one of two alternations in midfield from our midweek win over Everton with Thomas Partey replacing Jorginho, while Takehiro Tomiyasu is preferred to Ben White at right-back. Eddie Nketiah misses out after picking a knock against the Toffees.

Gary O’Neil has made two changes to his side that lost 4-1 to Manchester City last weekend, with Jefferson Lerma replaced by Joe Rothwell in central midfield.

The other switch sees Antoine Semenyo come in for Hamed Traore as O’Neil freshens his team up.

Arsenal: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Odegaard, Vieira, Saka, Martinelli, Trossard.

Subs: Turner, Tierney, White, Kiwior, Holding, Jorginho, Xhaka, Nelson, Smith Rowe.

Bournemouth: Neto, Smith, Senesi, Stephens, Mepham, Zemura, Billing, Rothwell, Ouattara, Semenyo, Solanke.

Subs: Travers, Randolph, Fredericks, Stacey, Cook, Anthony, Christie, Moore, Pollock.
