Team news: Saka returns to starting lineup

Bukayo Saka with coach Nico Jover after win over Leeds
Bukayo Saka with Nico Jover

Bukayo Saka is back in the starting lineup for our Sunday showdown with Liverpool at Anfield.

The England winger started last weekend’s game against Leeds as a substitute due to illness, but comes into the front three at the expense of Leandro Trossard, who is on the bench.

Speaking on Friday about his options up front, Mikel Arteta said: “It depends on the moment, what we want to do, the quality we are seeking and the relationships that we want on certain days.

“Then obviously you can make five changes [in the game], so you have the ability to change the game with those players, which is great for us.

“It’s much better to have that problem because at the moment they are all looking really good.”

Other than Saka's return, it’s the side that beat Leeds 4-1 at the Emirates, meaning Rob Holding continues at centre back alongside Gabriel, with Ben White and Alex Zinchenko at full back.

The midfield consists of Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and captain Martin Odegaard.

As for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp makes five changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Chelsea in midweek. Back come Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk.

Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Holding, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Jesus. Subs: Turner, Tierney, Walters, Kiwior, Jorginho, Smith Rowe, Vieira, Nelson, Trossard.
