Team news: Rice and Timber handed home bows

Declan Rice pre-match

Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber will get the opportunity to make their home debuts this evening in our Emirates Cup clash against Monaco.

The two summer signings have been named in Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up, with Kai Havertz on the bench as he awaits his Emirates Stadium bow in our colours.

William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu also get the chance to play on home turf again after missing the end of last season through injury, while Eddie Nketiah skippers the team, with Martin Odegaard also named amongst a strong bench.

However, Gabriel Jesus misses tonight's game due to a knee issue and will be assessed.

Monaco meanwhile have named a strong side containing club legend Wissam Ben Yedder up front, and French international Youssouf Fofana in the centre of the park - find out more about their key players and how their summer so far has gone.
