Team news: Back-to-back starts for Cooney-Cross

Kyra Cooney-Cross in action against Bristol City

Kyra Cooney-Cross has been named in the starting lineup to face Leicester City, earning her first start in the Women’s Super League.

The Australian midfielder made her full debut in our midweek victory over Bristol City in the Conti Cup, after a brief cameo against Liverpool on the opening game of the season.

17-year-old academy forward Vivienne Lia has been named in a WSL matchday squad for the very first time, after spending the past few months training with the first team and joining us on tour to adidas HQ.

Elsewhere, Alessia Russo returns to the frontline after being rested in the week, as does centre-back Amanda Ilestedt. Steph Catley, Victoria Pelova and Caitlin Foord, who all came off the bench against Bristol, start this evening against the Foxes.

With Kim Little and Lia Walti out this weekend, Katie McCabe dons the captain's armband for the second game in a row.
