Team news: Arteta makes five changes for Luton

Emile Smith Rowe

Mikel Arteta has opted to make five changes to his team for tonight’s meeting with Luton Town at Emirates Stadium.

The boss has shuffled his pack following the 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Sunday, with Emile Smith Rowe and Leandro Trossard coming into our attack, as well as Reiss Nelson who is handed his first league start since July 2020. Gabriel Jesus and Declan Rice drop to the bench, while Bukayo Saka sits the game out.

Meanwhile Oleksandr Zinchenko comes in at left-back in place of Jakob Kiwior, while Thomas Partey is named in the starting XI for the first time since August’s 2-2 draw with Fulham, with Jorginho benched.

Injury-plagued Luton have made three changes to their side that lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Tahith Chong and Reece Burke came off in that game with the former only fit enough to make the bench tonight, and they are replaced by Daiki Hashioka and Fred Onyedinma.

The other switch sees Jordan Clark replace Luke Berry as Rob Edwards continues to juggle his players.

Arsenal: Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Odegaard, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Trossard, Havertz.
Subs: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, Kiwior, Jorginho, Rice, Vieira, Martinelli, Jesus, Nketiah.

Luton: Kaminski, Kabore, Hashioka, Mengi, Doughty, Barkley, Mpanzu, Clark, Townsend, Onyedinma, Morris.
Subs: Shea, Krul, Johnson, Berry, Piesold, Nelson, Chigozie, Chong, Woodrow.
