Interview

Super sub Stina on her impact at City

Stina Blackstenius was the difference-maker in Sunday’s 2-1 win away to Manchester City in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

After coming off the bench in the second half, our forward got on the end of a knock down from Caitlin Foord to score the equaliser before heading in from a Kim Little cross to give us the lead.

“Obviously I'm really happy with the win and that we could turn the game around,” Stina said, commenting on our ability to come from behind to earn three points late on. “I think we haven't won here in four years, so it was a good win.

“I think it shows a lot and that's what we're capable of. I'm just really proud of how we managed to come back in this game and to go home to London with three points.

“I’m really happy of course to score those two goals.”

Stina also had a message for Gooners who have followed us home and away this season, making the long journey up to Manchester on Sunday.

“It means everything,” she said. “I think they have been amazing the whole season, supporting us everywhere. They've been through ups and downs together with us. So yes, they mean everything for us.”
