We took two Soccer Schools coaches out to Rwanda for a five-day coaching clinic in October 2018.
The coaching clinic took place at Rwanda’s fantastic Amahoro Stadium in Kigali and marked the first steps of our commitment to help football development in Rwanda.
Working with the Rwandan national governing body, FERWAFA, Visit Rwanda invited 25 U15 boys and 25 U15 girls from all over the country to take part.
Our Soccer School coaches delivered dedicated two-and-a-half-hour sessions every day to each group of children to help them develop their skills and tactical play on the pitch. The coaches were incredibly impressed with the standard of play and the athleticism and enthusiasm of the participants.
During the week, we also worked closely with FERFAWA, and invited coaches to observe the session, to learn about their grassroots objectives and introduce the Arsenal coaching philosophy to Rwanda.
We will continue to run coaching clinics throughout the three-year deal with Visit Rwanda. These will focus on children, coaches and women in Rwanda.
