Six academy players called up to Young Lionesses

England's U17 squad, including Katie Reid and Michelle Agyemang, celebrate a goal at the U17 Euros

Six of our women's academy players have received call-ups to England's U19 squad for the last international window of 2023.

Michelle Agyemang, Katie Reid, Araya Dennis, Freya Godfrey, Laila Harbert and Maddy Earl will all attend the upcoming Algarve Cup with the Young Lionesses, as they face Portugal, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Our young Gunners have been thriving on various loan spells this season, with Araya Dennis notably scoring the Women's Championship Goal of the Month for October with a stunning long-range effort for Crystal Palace.

Freya Godfrey, who signed a professional contract with us back in June, is spending this season with Championship side Charlton Athletic. Meanwhile, Katie Reid, Michelle Agyemang and Laila Harbert all joined Championship side Watford on a dual-registration deal this summer.

This trio, along with Dennis, represented their country at this year's UEFA Women's U17 European Championship, where England reached the semi-finals. They were knocked out by eventual winners, Spain.
