Relive five classic home wins against Man City

Mikel Arteta celebrates scoring against Manchester City in 2012

Sunday sees Manchester City arrive in north London for a top-of-the-table clash, and what could be another memorable encounter between the two sides.

We've enjoyed some fine displays against the side travelling down from the blue half of Manchester, and here are five for you to relive all over again:

August 20, 1994

Arsenal 3-0 Manchester City

We kicked off the 1994/95 season with a fine win over City at Highbury, with Kevin Campbell grabbing our first goal just two minutes into the campaign after linking up with Paul Merson.

On 36 minutes the lead was doubled when Alan Smith's shot cannoned in off City's Michel Vonk after a mistake by goalkeeper Tony Coton, and then in the second half following Uwe Rosler's dismissal, Campbell turned provider to race down the right and pull back for Ian Wright to cap off a fine performance.

October 28, 2000

Arsenal 5-0 Manchester City

The biggest margin of victory we've recorded against City came in this memorable fixture, in what had been the first meeting of the two sides for four-and-a-half years following City's demotion as far as the third tier.

After Danny Tiatto's sending-off just before half-time, Ashley Cole set us on our way by driving home a low shot from range before a classic Dennis Bergkamp finish doubled the lead. Sylvain Wiltord added a third before Thierry Henry got on in the act by netting twice late on to complete a convincing win.

February 1, 2004

Arsenal 2-1 Manchester City

Henry would score his best goal against City in this clash three seasons later, as Arsene Wenger's team marched one step closer to an unbeaten campaign. The Frenchman struck a post early on as a signal of intent, but on 36 minutes his low centre was diverted into his own goal by the visiting defender Michael Tarnat.

Jose Antonio Reyes made his debut as a second-half sub, and he was on the field to witness a moment of Henry magic that sealed the points. The striker picked the ball up from Robert Pires, and took aim with a laser-like strike that flew past the helpless David James to double the lead. Nicolas Anelka would pull one back late on against his former club, before being involved in a melee with Cole that saw him red-carded on his Highbury return.

April 8, 2012

Arsenal 1-0 Manchester City

We looked to have severely dented City's hopes of a first league title since 1968 by beating them at Emirates Stadium, leaving them eight points behind Manchester United with six games to play.

In a game we dominated, Robin van Persie struck the woodwork twice and Theo Walcott forced Joe Hart to push a shot on the post, before three minutes from time Mikel Arteta picked the ball up 25 yards from goal and drove home a wonderful shot to finally break the deadlock - although City would recover to clinch the title in dramatic fashion on the final day.

December 21, 2015

Arsenal 2-1 Manchester City

Our last home league win against City was nearly eight years ago, but it was one to remember thanks to an excellent Walcott strike from 20 yards that flew past Hart to start the scoring.

Then just before half-time, Mesut Ozil pounced on a mistake by Eliaquim Mangala to tee up Olivier Giroud to make our lead more comfortable, and even after a fine finish from Yaya Toure made for a nervy ending, we clung on to claim victory.
