Our 6-0 thrashing of West Ham United at the London Stadium had statisticians around the country scrambling through their archives to see just how big our achievement was - and they confirmed plenty of records tumbled on Sunday afternoon.
The standout one was that we registered our biggest-ever Premier League away win, surpassing the 6-1 triumph at Goodison Park on the opening day in 2009/10, when David Moyes was also in the opposition dugout, as well as the 6-1 win against Middlesbrough in April 1999.
In terms of all-time records, it also matches our biggest-ever margin of victory away from home, moving alongside 7-1 drubbings of Aston Villa and Wolves in the 1930s. However we fell just short of our biggest ever away win, which came in the UEFA Cup Winners Cup against Standard Liege when we won 7-0 in November 1993.
It was also our joint-biggest London derby victory in the league, and unfortunately for the Hammers, it was their joint-heaviest home defeat in their league history, with the only other occasion they lost by six goals on their own patch coming back in 1963.
It was also a memorable day for a couple of our goalscorers. Bukayo Saka netted his 50th goal in our colours, and also hit 100 goals and assists, while Gabriel scored on his 150th Gunners appearance, moving into second spot in our top-scoring defenders in the division with his 14th in our colours.
In another statistical quirk, Leandro Trossard’s fourth of the afternoon during an incredible 45 minutes saw us hit 8,000 goals in total in our history.
7,172 of those have come in the top-flight - 5,020 in the old Division One alongside 2,156 in the Premier League, with the remaining 824 coming in Division Two.
