We’re pleased to announce that our men’s and women’s first team shirts which were worn in the lead-up to Remembrance Day this year with specially designed embroidered poppies, raised £78,717 for the Royal British Legion to help support serving and ex-serving army personnel and their families.
The women’s shirts were worn in our games against Manchester City, Bristol City and Leicester City in November. The shirt worn and signed by Alessia Russo, raised the most of our club shirts across both teams, going for just over £5,705.
The men’s shirts were worn in our fixtures against Newcastle United on Saturday 4th November and Burnley which was played on Saturday 11th November, the day before Remembrance Sunday. Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard’s signed match-worn shirts in those fixtures led the way for our men’s team, raising nearly £3,500 each.
Over two campaigns, in two years, the club has proudly raised £165,805 for the Royal British Legion with the help of online auction site ‘MatchWornShirt’.
