Arsene Wenger credits last season’s 2-0 victory at Bayern Munich as the source of his team’s fine form over the past 11 months.
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny secured a fine result at the Allianz Arena, although it was not enough to see Arsenal progress.
All the same it gave the Gunners a huge confidence boost that Wenger believes we are still witnessing today.

“It gave us belief to finish the season well and from then on we have done well,” the manager said.
“Last year we went out on the away goal basically. That shows you that first of all it's important not to concede at home but I think we’re in much better mental shape than we were a year ago.
“We [had just] lost to Blackburn in the FA Cup and it was a big disappointment for us. This time we [have just] won against Liverpool and we’re really determined to win this game.
“We’re in a strong position and it's now down to us to show the same focus and spirit we have shown against Liverpool.”
