Wenger - We could have won it 1-0

Arsene Wenger feels Arsenal did enough to win against Manchester United on Wednesday.

Both sides had chances to win the game late on when Robin van Persie was denied by a point-blank stop from Wojciech Szczesny before Santi Cazorla saw two efforts saved by David De Gea.

Wenger praised the attitude shown by his side after the defeat to Liverpool and thinks they will gain confidence from their performance against the champions.

"We have come back with better confidence now, now it's important to get wins again"

"I think overall we could have won 1-0," Wenger told Arsenal Player. "I felt we had more of the game than Man United but they remain always dangerous with the quality strikers they have on the counter-attack when you throw everything forward.

"When you look at the quality of players they have, they can still beat any team in the Premier League. We had two or three chances but we didn't manage to score a goal in a game of very few chances.

"When you don't win it's always a missed opportunity when you want to chase for the title. Let's say it's a disappointing result against a good team but the attitude of the players, the fighting spirit, was very reassuring.

"We have come back with better confidence now, now it's important to get wins again."
