Wojciech Szczesny says his two previous FA Cup encounters against Leeds United reinforced how special the tournament is to him.
The 23-year-old played in the 3-1 third-round replay victory at Elland Road in 2011 and also featured a year later when Thierry Henry settled a tight encounter on his return to the Club.
Szcesny is looking forward to taking part in the competition again, particularly as Tottenham are the opponents on Saturday.
"This is the game that you look forward to all season"
“One of the most enjoyable games that I've ever played for this club was in the tournament, away at Leeds in 2011,” he told the official matchday programme.
“It was a proper cup game - the crowd was fantastic. It was a very tense game and we managed to get a very important win. It was really enjoyable.
“Then of course I remember the match at home against them the season after when Thierry Henry scored the winner on his return. There's not a lot that needs to be said about that - for every single Arsenal fan it was a magical moment. It's a big competition and we always look forward to it.”
Szczesny is looking forward to facing Tottenham on Saturday, and says it represents a major opportunity for the Gunners.
“This is the game that you look forward to all season,” he said. "Hopefully we can repeat the performances that we have put in recently and get a similar result to the one we got earlier in the season. I personally can't wait for it.
"I always find that it's good to play good teams early in the competition because you have a real chance to knock them out. We're confident and believe we have what it takes to get through to the next round."
