Ramsey - Ozil deserved his goal

Aaron Ramsey says Mesut Ozil deserved to score his first goal for Arsenal on Tuesday night after laying on so many chances for his team-mates since he arrived in England.

The Germany star fired Ramsey's pass beyond Napoli keeper Pepe Reina in the eighth minute before Ozil turned provider for Olivier Giroud to secure a 2-0 win in the Champions League.

And Ramsey was happy to see his new team-mate get on the scoresheet in front of the Emirates Stadium crowd.

"We've done ever so well since that blip against Aston Villa, we won every game and hopefully we can continue that"

"We are all really pleased for him because he's given a lot of assists this season," he said. "I was happy to set him up and the team were happy for him to get his first goal.

"I think he's settled in pretty well. He's made a few assists already and got his first goal tonight so that's pleasing for him and the team. Hopefully he will score many more.

"We're really pleased to take six points," added Ramsey. "I thought we started off really well and put them under pressure with two goals in the first half which we deserved, and then we killed the game.

"We thoroughly deserved the win I thought. We've done ever so well since that blip against Aston Villa, we won every game and hopefully we can continue that. It's always nice to get off to a good start in the Champions League.

"I think the games against [Borussia] Dortmund will be massive, they are a tough team to play against and they got to the final last year but we're at home and we'll be confident of getting the right result against them. If we do we will put ourselves in a really positive position."
