Ox - You’ll see what we’re made of now

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says Arsenal can underline their credentials in their upcoming games against Manchester City and Chelsea.

The Gunners travel to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, before hosting Jose Mourinho’s side in another major test nine days later.

"[People] want to see us win these kind of fixtures in quick succession because that's what title contenders need to do"

Oxlade-Chamberlain may be sidelined at the moment, but he is confident his team-mates will prove their quality in the heat of battle.

“The teams that want to win leagues are the ones that step up and win big games, so this spell here is our first real [test],” he told Arsenal Player.

“We've played Manchester United and Liverpool already but to play Man City and Chelsea consecutively is a tough schedule and it’s off the back of Everton. They are three tough fixtures, so I think that's when you really can see what a team is made of.

“[People] want to see us win these kind of fixtures in quick succession because that's what title contenders and champions need to be able to do, it's as simple as that.

“It will be interesting to see how it happens and what the results are but there's still a long way to go in the season whatever does happen. It's definitely not going to decide anything [though], there's a long way to go.

“It won't be the deciding moment in the season at all but it's definitely a stepping stone in the right direction.”
