New signing Emma Mitchell says the opportunity to move to Arsenal Ladies was one that she simply could not turn down.
The Scottish international made her debut against Liverpool last Saturday and followed that up with an accomplished display in Thursday's Continental Cup semi-final win over Everton.
Mitchell knows Ladies boss Shelley Kerr well from her time north of the border and admits the lure of winning trophies attracted her to the Club.
"Coming here and having the chance to play Champions League football and win trophies is a big attraction"
"That's one of the reasons I joined," she told Arsenal.com. "When I was with Glasgow City, we won trophies quite regularly and when I went to Germany, it was something I missed out on.
"Coming here and having the chance to play Champions League football and win trophies is a big attraction. When the opportunity came along, it was one that I couldn't turn down. Arsenal are such a big club. I'm really happy to be here and hopefully we can win some silverware at the end of the season.
"Shelley was my coach when we played under-19s with the national team. I've known her for a long time and she was involved when I was with the national academy."
Compatriot Caroline Weir also signed for the Ladies this summer and Mitchell is pleased with the way both players have been welcomed at the Club.
"It's easier coming in and having somebody in the same position as you so you're not the only new one," she said. "I think we've fitted in well and the girls have made us really welcome. If you feel good off the park, I think it helps when you go onto the pitch.
"It's nice to play at home and get the crowd behind you. It was important for us to reach the final and now we're looking forward to the game on Sunday. Hopefully we'll go into that game with the same mentality."
