Chuks Aneke netted a fine brace in Crewe's crucial victory at home to Sheffield United. The midfielder curled the hosts into the lead after 37 minutes before adding his second of the afternoon and eighth of the season on the stroke of half-time. Byron Moore made the points safe late on.

Joel Campbell completed 90 minutes of action and was Olympiacos' matchwinner against Panaitolikos. The forward stroked home a second-half penalty to keep the hosts 14 points clear at the top of the Greek Super League. Henri Camara had given the visitors a surprise lead but Michael Olaitan equalised after 26 minutes.

Benik Afobe made his debut and played 70 minutes as Sheffield Wednesday moved further away from the Championship relegation zone with victory at home to Barnsley. Former Gunner Emmanuel Frimpong, making his Barnsley debut, was among three players sent off before Chris Maguire settled the game in the 97th minute. Damian Martinez was an unused substitute.

Ju Young Park made his Watford debut as Ikechi Anya and Fernando Forestieri strikes gave the Hornets a first league win in five games. Park was introduced in second-half stoppage time while Hector Bellerin was named on the bench but did not feature.

Francis Coquelin was brought on at half-time in Freiburg's defeat at Mainz. The French midfielder replaced Julian Schuster after Joo-Ho Park had opened the scoring midway through the first period. Compatriot Ja-Cheol Koo doubled the advantage after 86 minutes.

Chuba Akpom featured as Brentford maintained their place at the summit of League One despite a draw at Shrewsbury. Marcelo Trotta gave the Bees the lead midway through the second half but Tom Eaves salvaged a point for the home side in the dying stages. Akpom was brought on with 12 minutes to play.

Wellington was a second-half substitute but could not prevent Real Murcia from falling to defeat in Ponferradina. Yuri gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot before Acoran Reyes made the game safe with five minutes to play. Wellington replaced Ivan Moreno just before the hour mark.

Ignasi Miquel played no part as Leicester increased their lead at the top of the Championship to 10 points with victory at Bournemouth. Kevin Phillips' late header secured a ninth straight league victory for Nigel Pearson's side.

Johan Djourou did not feature as Hamburg remained in the Bundesliga relegation zone following defeat at Hoffenheim. Roberto Firmino and Niklas Sule goals gave the hosts a comfortable half-time lead before Andreas Beck completed the scoring after an hour.
